During this trek through the Alps National Park, you will explore a preserved area of the Japanese high mountains and discover splendid views of Mount Fuji. This trek includes, among other things, the ascent of Mount Kitadake (3,193 m), the second highest peak in the archipelago.

Day 1 : flight to Tokyo

Day 2 : first steps in the capital

Your local guide welcomes you at the airport and accompanies you to your hotel. Free arrangement for lunch and dinner ● Transport : between the airport and your hotel in Tokyo ● Night : hotel

Day 3 : visit to Tokyo

You will meet up with your Tokyo guide, who will spend the day with you. He introduces you to the spirit of the capital and guides you to undiscovered places, which only he knows the secret. Free arrangement for lunch. • Meals : breakfast and dinner • Night : hotel

Day 4 : Tokyo and departure for Kofu

Free arrangement for morning. Your luggage will be transferred to Kyoto, and you will only carry your hiking gear with you for the duration of the tour in the Japanese Alps. In the afternoon, your hiking guide will accompany you by train to Kofu. Free arrangement for lunch. • Transport : transfer between Tokyo and Kofu (duration : 1½ hour) • Meals : breakfast and dinner • Night : hotel

Day 5 : Hirogawara → Kata-no-koya

We return to the starting point of the trek. The trek begins with a climb through the forest, gradually ascending to an altitude of 3,000 meters to join the Kata-no-koya hut, where we spend the night. • transfer between Kofu and Hirogawara (Duration : 2 hours) • Ascent : 1400 m / Descent : 0 m (5½ to 6 hours’ walking) • Meals : breakfast, picnic and dinner • Night : mountain hut

Day 6 : Kata-no-koya → Kuma-no-daira

You wake up with the day's goal in sight : Mount Kitadake, Japan's second highest peak at 3,193 meters. The day continues through varied landscapes to the Kuma-no-daira hut. • Ascent : 500 m / Descent : 580 m (5½ to 6 hours’ walking) • Meals : breakfast, picnic and dinner • Night : mountain hut

Day 7 : Kuma-no-daira → Shiomi goya

We are walking along a ridge at an altitude of 3,000 meters with Mount Fuji in view. Located a few kilometers away as the crow flies, the majestic volcano reveals its perfect cone-shaped silhouette. We end this stage at the Shiomi goya hut. • Ascent : 600 m / Descent : 650 m (6½ to 7 hours’ walking) • Meals : breakfast, picnic and dinner • Night : mountain hut

Day 8 : Shiomi goya → Takayama-no-ura

A beautiful, long day of transition as we embark on the second part of our trek. We spend the night at the Takayama-no-ura shelter. • Ascent : 800 m / Descent : 750 m (8 to 8½ hours’walking) • Meals : breakfast, picnic and dinner • Night : mountain hut

Day 9 : Takayama-no-ura → Akaishidake goya

This stage promises to be the most challenging of the trek. The spectacular sight will delight you and make you forget the length and elevation gain of the day. We will reach the Akaishidake Goya refuge for a good night's rest. • Ascent : 1100 m / Descent :- 130 m (8 to 8½ hours’ walking) • Meals : breakfast, picnic and dinner • Night : mountain hut

Day 10 : Akaishidake goya → Sawara-Jima and return to Tokyo

It's time to head back down into the valley. Sawara-jima marks the end of our journey through the Southern Alps. We travel by bus to Shizuoka, before speeding off to Kyoto aboard the shinkansen, Japan's high-speed bullet train. • Ascent : 0 / Descent : 1000 (2½ to 3 hours’ walking) • Transport : transfers between Sawara Island and Kyoto • Meals : breakfast, picnic and dinner • Night : hotel

Akaishidake goya → Sawara-Jima and return to Tokyo
Day 11 : Kyoto
